Arrest made in Gresham homicide

Gresham Police have made an arrest for a homicide that occurred early Thursday morning, March 27.
Shortly after midnight, police responded to a report of a stabbing near NE Glisan Street and NE 201st Avenue. Officers found 53-year-old Thomas “Tommy” Ferrer deceased at the scene and detained a possible suspect.
An investigation by the East County Major Crimes Team determined 38-year-old William Huffman had fatally stabbed Ferrer and attempted to assault another person who was present during the attack. Huffman was arrested and charged with murder in the second degree, attempted assault in the second degree, and unlawful use of a weapon.
