Rental Housing Inspection Program

The City conducts random, mandatory inspections throughout the year on residential rental properties in Gresham.

  • Inspections ensure rental properties meet minimum standards of fire, health and life safety.
  • The program allows for random selection of properties and units to be inspected.
  • The program provides the highest possible protection for those who report violations.

Rental Housing Licenses

Rental housing licenses

A rental housing license is required to maintain or operate a residential rental property in Gresham. 

This applies to all residential rental units, including single-family homes, duplexes and apartments.

Fees

Council Resolution No. 3600 was passed on March 19, 2024. Rental license rates will increase effective July 1, 2024.

Fees are based on the total number of rental units on a property.
