Update: Homicide suspect arrested

Update: The suspect in a Gresham homicide has been arrested. On September 7, Portland Police Bureau officers assigned to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Transit Police conducted a traffic stop in east Portland. They identified one of the occupants of the vehicle as 28-year-old Marcell Trotter.
Trotter was wanted for the murder of 25-year-old D’Angelo Adams. Adams was killed June 28, 2026, at the Rockwood Village Apartments, 783 SE 185th Avenue in Gresham. The East County Major Crimes Team is leading the investigation. 7/2/26: Shooting at Rockwood Village Apartments ruled homicide; victim identified
Gresham Police are releasing the identity of the victim of a fatal shooting at Rockwood Village Apartments.
On Monday, June 29, just before 4:00 am, D’Angelo Adams, 25, was shot and killed in the 700 block of SE 185 Avenue. The Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide by gunfire. Adams’ family has been notified of his death and provided a photo of for public release.
The East County Major Crimes Team (MCT) was activated and Gresham detectives are continuing to lead the investigation with their MCT partners.
