Residential curbside garbage service includes weekly collection of yard waste.

  • Branches less than 4 inches thick and 36 inches long.

Keep garbage out of yard waste

Garbage mixed into Gresham’s yard waste loads can result in contamination fees at the local processing facility, increasing curbside collection costs for everyone.

  • Food waste (Sign-up for our composting program)
  • Plastic bags, plant pots and packaging
  • Rocks, gravel, bricks and concrete
  • Pressure-treated or painted wood
  • Stumps, large branches and roots over 4" in diameter
  • Pet Waste, litter and soiled animal bedding
  • Anything plastic
  • Garbage
  • Glass
  • Sod

Need extra room?

You can set out extra yard waste in a kraft paper bag, a can or bundle for extra fee. Learn more about fees.

Extras must be 32 gallons or smaller and weigh 55 pounds or less. Yard debris bundles must be no longer than 3 feet in length and 18 inches in diameter.

Collection day 

Before collection day, take a quick look and remove anything that doesn’t belong. Place the yard waste cart and an extras at the curb. Keeping garbage out helps protect workers and equipment, improves compost quality and keep costs down.
